Tell us about your role at ResourceWise and how it contributes to delivering value to our customers.
As the company's HR Manager, I support our entire team of talent. I'm a one-man HR show, which keeps me busy and challenged! Our company's greatest asset is its people! Every day, I come in with an open mind, eager to assist with a variety of needs, whether it be payroll or benefits, perhaps training and development, or as a recruiter looking for incredible talent across the globe. I believe each day is an opportunity to deliver results, and in my case, it's being a voice, creating policy, changing ways for the better, and motivating our team in all ways. With our core values at the forefront, I believe my efforts help motivate and create comfort in the workplace so that our team can produce the products and services our customers desire.
What is one of the biggest challenges you see in your industry today, and how is ResourceWise addressing it?
From an HR standpoint, I think my biggest challenge is every changing policy. Statutory changes across the states, new laws and guidance, but even more difficult are the constant changes across countries. With ResourceWise being a global team, we've partnered with the right HR support contacts in various regions. Each of them helps me deliver needed service, answer questions, ensure compliance, and get everyone paid - whether it be in California, London, or Shanghai. That said, I'm always up for a challenge. Challenges keep me on my toes, and I learn something new every day.
Can you share a recent project or accomplishment that you're particularly proud of?
After a recent pulse survey, I was encouraged to see that more than 90% of our workforce enjoys working at ResourceWise, far more than the national and global averages. I've tackled some policy changes and new networking opportunities, and I'm working to create better procedures in our ATS (Applicant Tracking System).
How do you stay ahead of industry trends, and how does that benefit our customers?
I'm a member of SHRM, the Society for Human Resource Management, along with our local Charlotte chapter. Much of what I learn regarding new technology or trends comes from them.
Which of our core values resonates with you the most, and how do you incorporate it into your day-to-day work?
As a member of the LGBTQ community, I take pride in fostering an interconnected world by valuing our global diversity and collaboration. This value speaks to me. Working alongside the most diverse individuals is the best thing!
What makes ResourceWise a great place to work?
What we do as a company is celebrate technology, provide resources to improve the planet, collaborate with an amazing team, feel supported by senior leadership, and be given opportunities to continue to learn and grow—it's what every person deserves in a work environment. I'm so happy I found it almost five years ago!
