Public Comments Invited in Minnesota
The annual stand exam list (ASEL), which identifies the timber on state-owned lands considered for sale during the 2014 fiscal year, is now available for review from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The DNR estimates 35,000 to 40,000 of the 57,000 acres slated for evaluation will qualify for timber harvest during the upcoming fiscal year, which runs from July 1 to June 30.
Additional information and an interactive map that details the plans by area are available via the Minnesota DNR website. Individuals may submit comments online or contact their local DNR office to discuss the ASEL with a forester. The DNR will accept public comments on the proposed harvest plans through May 31.
