Barry Parrish is the Director of Sustainability at ResourceWise, helping businesses navigate the upcoming EUDR regulations as well as spearheading other sustainability iniatives across verticals.

Barry is a leader in forest products and sustainability, bringing deep expertise in the wood supply chain. As a founding member of Sustainable Biomass Partners (SBP), he helped develop the sustainability framework for the wood pellet trade to Europe. Barry also possesses a comprehensive understanding of timber security and fraud procedures.

With a notable tenure on the US Industrial Pellet Association (USIPA) Board of Directors and Sustainability Working Group, Barry has been a strong advocate for industry interests, influencing EU policymakers and regulators during the implementation of RED I and RED II.

Barry's leadership was instrumental in spearheading the development and execution of a sustainability program, leading to Georgia Biomass's certification to multiple standards, including SBP, SFI, FSC, PEFC, Enplus, and GGL. Notably, Barry also achieved the distinction of certifying the first US pellet plant to the Netherlands SDE+ subsidy scheme.

His tenure at Smurfit-Stone, from December 1998 to August 2010, included managing land activities on 450,000 acres as Georgia Land Manager. He also played a key role in developing and integrating the fiber security program and policies, which were implemented across procurement regions spanning 15 paper mills in the US and Canada.

Barry holds a B.S. in Forest Resources with a focus on Timber Management and Utilization from the University of Georgia and is a proud member of Pi Kappa Phi, as well as being a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Registered Forester in Georgia.
